As title says, can anyone recommend any particular insurance companys for not simply cheapest but reliable AND good value? Don't just want to go with the cheapest if they are going to be a load of crap!

Thanks

www.4counties.co.uk are the best for me, give them a ring tomorrow, I'm paying £360 tpft at 17 on an ER-5 with 1 NCB in an F* area.

Thumbs Up

My broker is MCD but the actual insurance co is Axa.

The main benefits (which i specifically wanted) is 3rd party cover on any bike and european breakdown cover.

Also, it's easy to contact the broker and the people in the call centre seem to know their stuff.

Right got 2 quotes online so far the first from four counties £248 and the second from Bennetts (Equity Red Star) £204, both third party fire and theft but the bennetts one also includes legal expenses (£25) and breakdown cover (£59).

Is the legal expenses cover worth the money? It seems good value to me, but have it on my car insurance and never had any use for it. The breakdown cover is homestart and i think that one is a good idea.

Any thoughts?

depends really

I think its worth it so if I am hit by somebody that I'll have some lawyers to fight my corner (however craply) which is better than them folding like a house of cards at the first whiff of trouble, and at best declaring a 50-50,

read the BCF crash posts many of them contain the person who hit me changed his story such that 100% their fault turns into 100 YOUR fault.

oh and stop doing the internet thing too , start phoning around and under quoting yourself ie if your quote is £200 say I can get a quote for £195 or £190...what can you do, on goes the merry go round till nobody can beat your quote , hard to lose too cus many are 0800 numbers!

If you have the kind of problem that legal expenses cover will sort out for you, you can usually get it sorted out on a no-win, no-fee basis anyway.

Also, have a look at:

https://www.ridersupport.com/

Free membership and they claim "Never pay for legal cover again — replaces all paid-for annual legal arrangements".

Woman yes , cheap no , places like Manchester Leeds , Liverpool , infact every major city north o watford gap is cosidered an F* zone ,

in Manchester alone there are only 4 safe routes out the city during the night , (Rochdale road , Hein Gericke Salford , Oxford Road, belle Bue road) , the rest are death zones , 95%+ on the dole, throw rocks at you during the day , kill you if you fall off, and traffic lights are completely ignored in such areas
