When you get zapped with a hand held speed gun do they then pull you over or do you have to wait for the letter in the post ?

Just got zapped doing 40 in a 30 after midnight no other traffic about the cops just starred at me as I slowed to a crawl waiting for them to stop me but they did not Confused

They waved me over, wouldnt of stoped if it wasnt a straigt road Wink

Maybe the device said you were doing 30 or below, not always acurate...

Sounds like I should be okay then ,lucky really as I'm normally going much faster along that road as its double lane straight with no traffic ! I thank the sneezing fit Razz

they do let you off about 10mph over the limit sometimes anyway,

so id say you'll be alright going on its late,empty & you wasnt REALLY KICKING!!! just abit over

gd luck either way but id say they would of got you there & then if they wanted to do you

FWIW different forces (sorry, police services Rolling Eyes) have different policies. However, the general one for the hand held cameras is to have someone positioned further up the road to pull you in. Either that or they put their hand up and stop you at the point they are.

However, having said that I've seen them just do the checks to just be seen.

Different if a scamera van. That takes pictures and you have to wait for up to 14 days for the letter to come through.

Not true, i was caught on my zx6r and he radioed my plate in, 14 days later a NIP came through.

Sometimes they radio your plate, sometimes they flag you down (like the one outside my road) or sometimes they have cars/bikes waiting further down the road to pull you over.
