Heading down to the New Forest tomorrow but don't really have a clue what there is to do down there Confused

Basically looking for somewhere to walk the dog and get something nice to eat somewhere. Any recommendations?

Joe, try Brokenhurst, my mum was the manager of a campsite there for years, i spent months in the area.. I t has wild ponies walking about the village, good pubs, very friendly place.

Lymington is good for a mooch around.
Burley is a lovely old village, very tranquil.

Sammy Miller motorcycle museum is not a million miles away either.

Lymington would ne nice if it's sunny, but it's more coastal than the New Forest.

Apart form that it is just a load of woodland. Would be a good idea to lay your hands on an Ordinance Survey walkers map.

The Home/Motor museum at Beaulieu is also good, not quite sure on the requirement for dogs though.

Go to "three legged cross" and go see the bike shops on the industrial estate. 4 or 5 decent sized shops there. (if you get bored)

Ah, Brockenhurst! Thank you! It's a lovely part of the New Forest, but I couldn't remember the name!

brockenhurst isnt to bad, theres a few pubs/ little shops there and alot of forest to walk about. if you go from brockenhurst to beaulieu on the big long open straight just after u come out from the trees, dont speed as the bastards hide with speed guns along there. Is a shame my bikes not working i could have shown u about, i only live a few miles from beaulieu.

On the same road about 2 miles from Broc is a campsite on the right called 'Roundthorn' it has a bikers field Cool

My mum used to run 'Hollands Wood' campsite next to the Balmer Lawn hotel (her ex is still the manager Thumbs Down )

You could always trip across from 'Sandbanks' nr Poole, across to 'Studland Bay'.........fantastic beach with a naturist area in case you wanna get ya bits brown. If you go on the bike then the car park attendant lets you leave ya leathers & wot not in his hut..
You can go to Shell Bay cafe for a meal and do a coastal walk. Thumbs Up

Unfortunately the only naturists I've ever seen at Studland Bay have been retired couples Mad Laughing

Stayed in the Holland's Wood campsite 3 or 4 times and seem to remember it being very good, although slightly dearer than some other's.

I think the site is called roundhill not roundhorn. I just got back from there, my inlaws work there. A very nice place to camp.

Yep, your right, it is Roundhill........ Your inlaws will probably know my mum 'Diane' who used to live with 'Mike Warburton' ... they managed Hollands Wood together for years.

Thumbs Up
