Event itself was pretty slow really. We think there was a technical difficulty resulting in only 1 bike at a time and a very slow turnaround. (Blame the dog that was running off it's lead!) Perhaps the main days were tommorrow on the Monday/Tuesday?

However there were plenty of bikes to look at including Ghostrider. Yes folks THE Ghostrider, complete with film crew etc. Interestingly they are Swedish. They were entering into the streetbike wheelie speed record with this, a Turbo busa Cool :

The large silver pipe below leads to the turbo's radiator at least twice the size of the engines radiator it's fitted in front of Shocked

Yes that was a 6 pot for the rear!

A view from the startline:

Another turbo'd busa but set up for the speed events:

Nice R6 Thumbs Up

Check out the sprocket: You could tell at a glance which bikes were set-up for wheeling. Those entering the speed events seemed to have almost the same size rear as the front.

Looks like the weather wasn't too bad from the pics. I was going to pop along but it was raining for most of the day here.

Some serious machinery there and lots of trick bits. So is it on again tommorow?

Thats Frank, the flying Dutchman. He managed 254.9mph.

All the best

I can believe it. He was also very friendly and was only to happy to answer our question... "Whats that tube sticking out of the tail for" - You can't see it in the pic as it's just next to the tail lights but Rick (Black Knight) was convinced it was something exotic to do with the nos system.... turned out it was just a humble breather! Hi

Pic of the bike (and Frank with his crew) from JD7 about a month ago when he managed 240.3mph.

Great to see Ghostrider actually carry out one of his plans for once, but I still don't get how he manages to stay on the thing with no fairing Shocked

I went along today and tbh, it was the worst event i've ever been to there. I stayed for 30 mins then came home. No proper organisation, and not really an event for the public. More like a GP testing day than a main race day. If you weren't a rider or pit crew it was almost pointless being there.

The barrier was so far away from the action that it was difficult to tell one bike from another, this even made bikes doing 200mph look slow. Also, there was no MC and the timing board was tiny.

Best bit was the long open stretch of runway between the gatehouse and the parking/camping area where i got the chance to max my bike out a couple of times. And i got to see a few high speed wheelies, have a look at the bikes, then get my entrance fee refunded on my way out.
