Ive got an insurance question i hope someone can help with...

My partner (common law, not legally married) has just bought me a brand new Honda CBR 125 (repsol colours). Ive been wanting to get into biking for a long time.. it was pretty much love at first sight with that bike! Very Happy lol.

Here lies the problem.. my partner has just taken out 3year finance on this new bike (finance in their name) and the bike has been registered in their name. The first insurance company i contacted said the insurance has to be in my partners name since they are the registered owner and keeper... and i will be a "named driver" on the policy. Furthermore, myself and my partner have to pass the CBT in order to get this insurance cover. My partner has absolutely no intertest in bikes.. and doesnt want to take the CBT.

The garage wont release the bike without seeing the insurance policy.. and it seems i cant get a policy unless my partner passes the CBT.

Is there a solution to this problem? will every insurance company demand the policy to be in my partners name? if thats the case, it doesnt look like the bike will leave the garage Sad i assumed i would be able to get insurance for the bike, despite it being registered to my partner.

I hope all that makes sense! lol. if anyone can help.. please please get back to me.

Cheers!

Mike

Get a new keeper from and re register the bike in your own name.
Cant tell you where to get the form from though
I know you have to have one to sell a bike on
It has something to do with the DVLA
Try their website?

Turn up in a van to collect the bike, nothing suggests you want it for road use.
