Yay or nay?

The HDD on my laptop is a pathetic 40GB, and with 300GB going for that kind of price...

So, upgrade the internal HDD, or buy an external one? Reccs?

Thanks you.

I'd say it depends on how portable you want this extra data to be. Ifyou need to cart it about upgrade the internal one.

Despite the fact it's a laptop, it rarely leaves the house (poor bastard).

IMO worth it.
However, check your laptop has USB2 and so has the external. You'll be waiting around quite a lot if they haven't.

I find it a useful way to carry around my music collection. I've a 40Gb 2.5" USB. Saves having external power supply you find on the 3.5" based drives. However, as you'll keep it in situ that's not a problem for you.

HTH Thumbs Up

I have a 60gb external 2.5" which is really good. Also a 120gb external 3.5" but its a bit of a pain really, takes a lot of space up and needs a power supply.

I also just bought a 2.5" hard drive for my laptop (upgrade) 100gb for £65.

I would prefer to have the internal memory as well as a 2.5" portable hd rather than a small internal memory and a 3.5" external hd.
