While sort of ontopic of the A2 license..
What does the A2 allow you to ride, with what restrictions?
As far as i am aware DAS is for 21+ only, is A2 sort of the equivalent for under 21's?
Thanks

I'm not sure about A2 but there are 2 category motorcycle licences.
Minimum age of 17 for either test, A1 entitlement allows you to ride up to 125cc and power output not exceeding 11kW (14.6bhp).
If you're under 21, a cat A allows you ride any machine up to 25kW (33bhp) and a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.16kW/kg.
I believe this lasts for 2 years then you can ride any power unrestricted.
If you're 21 or over then A allows any size motorcycle from the get go. Usually referred to as Direct Access. |

simeonipicker, try MCE. They were the best for me with 0 ncb, and a lot of other people have said the same.
Phone them up though. When I told the guy my lowest was £800 FC he went away and came back with a sum of around £720. I then said I'd think about trying someone else and he dropped it to £683 |

Thanks about the license info guys.....it seems i am on 'A1' (125 restricted to 14.6HP)
I'm gonna give it a couple of year before i take my test i think, or i might do it in about a year so i can take pillions and get rid of damn ugly L plates!!!
The cheapest insurance i found was rampdale (but i am on a 125, like you were)
Not sure on bigger bikes so i can't help you there mate, sorry |
