Basically who's going to be the cheapest for flights to Perth (Australia) around December/January time?

Ive been with Singapore the previous few times, and could not fault them, well with the exception of using the 747-400 aircraft on the way back which was bloody awful and cramped! not Charter cramped but enough to give me pain for a 12 hour 45 mins flight.

Heard good things about Emirates, anyone ever used them? Ill be flying from Manchester, although if its cheaper from Heathrow or Gatwick will fly from there.

Try Japan air. I got a great deal from Heathrow to Japan to Brisbane. Maybe cheap to Perth, who knows?

go to STA travel in mancs and ask , those folks do good deals for people under 25, lots of RTW tickets cost a bit more than a standard bread n' butter return flight.

or you know phone around and ask

Try Travel Bag.

My mate who's off to Oz got a price from STA in Manchester, then went to Travel Bag and got the same flight £300 less.

Thumbs Up

Give them a try,

Ive had to revise my dates, was planning at first going from the 20th december for a month, but was getting the cheapest flights £871 with Emirates Shocked

So decided go the 10th January for a month instead, get the intial (we must go to Australia for new year) rush over with i think save some money.

Also got a letter from friendly people at Blackhorse, my loan company. I have one month left of paying £29.12 for my Decks, but they have basically said i can get another £800 for the same amount each month?? You reckon i should go in and speak to them about it? Because if can get that with same amount for same time ill have all the money i need for Australia then.

Why don't you look into Scooterman as an extra source of cash? ,

www.scooterman.co.uk , I v nearly did that, but thats just me being wary of borrowing more than small amounts off banks/loan companies.

I flew etihad to thailand from heathrow in may and cannot fault them.

Prices were really good, the planes were big nice inside and best of all basically empty.

We paid £440 for a return to thailand with a stop in abu dhabi. On all flights we had so much room, the normal seats are nice but we were able to move so i had a 4 seater isle to myself to get the kip in. Smile

Have a look at expedia for quotes thats how i found my ethiad flight.

I've been to Kuala Lumpur.

They've got security guards with assault rifles at every gate (or did in 2002) and the gates are set up the same way Schiphol is: with the security right there at each gate. So you'd need to make sure you got to the gate with enough time for a possible pat-down (you might not get patted down, but you never know).

Check out flying into Bangkok, then Bangkok to Oz...from Europe. I met loads of people who flew from Milan because it worked out a lot cheaper than going from the UK direct.

You could also try and fly to Vietnam then to Oz, because Vietnamese airlines are a fantastic airline to fly with, their planes are wicked, and wide seating and cheap too.

Emirates is a great airline, I use them when I go to Dubai.

They have little interactive tv's in the back of every seat which is kinda neat. You can watch any film or TV show on there from the start when you want! There is also some crappy games which aren't worth the bother really.

But I managed to watch like 4 films going there and back which made the flight enjoyable! (food was good too)
