hi. i have bought a 2001 yamaha maxster scooter which although is very tatty on the outside, has been fully reconditioned mechanically. It looks like a scruffy version of this -

Basically the panel that surrounds the instruments has a little bit cut out (why i don’t know) so i will maybe replace this but im not yet sure. either way the rest of the panels are in good order but have some to lots of paint scratched off revealing the black plastic underneath.
im basically open to suggestions on how to repaint the panels. im looking for the best finish possible with the least cash spent. I wouldn’t mind it being a different colour....i like the idea of a mat black finish but like i say i want to do it myself for as little cash as possible so if that means just sorting out the tatty bits then that’s what ill do.
what methods do you lot suggest then> bare in mind that im quite patient and pretty handy. oh also there is a bit of rust on the exhaust and exhaust cover too plus dents in that also.
come on then help a newbie
Cheers. |

And the piece missing from the clock surround was most likely to house a switch of some kind for cut off / alarm / neons etc... ____________________ Bike History:- Vision / Phantom 100 / Aerox 100 / Runner VX125 / Honda VFR400 NC24 / Kwak ZX9R B3 / Honda CBR600 F / ZZR400 & K2 GSXR 750 / Suzuki VZ800 |
