Im currently living with my Dad, and because all my CDs are still packing in his loft, and I desperately needed some new tunes to listen to driving to college, I raided his cassette collection. I found some old Pink Floyd, some Queen, and the absolute cracker of Jasper Carrott - comedian. Today I had this cranked up and he had me in stitches, tears rolling down my face, driving down the M27... he is bloody hilarious... talking about a problem he has with mole's in his garden. I almost forgot how to drive it was that funny...

Do they have stuff like this available to download onto MP3, if so, you should have a listen...?

'The Mole'

Damn that sketch was new when I was a kid. It is first class. There was an animation done of it too. I had tears rolling down my face when I watched it.

Especially the bit where he's on the bar stool with the light strapped to the shotgun. Fooking hilarious! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Yeah, he's in my top 5. One of the few blokes who can still be really funny without loads of swearing or dirty jokes.

Jasper Carrot sounds like an all round good bloke, despite that rubbish sit com he did a few years back.

I read Frank Skinners autobiography, and in it he relates how at an open mic night, Jasper Carrot was there, and stayed back, and gave encouragement and advice, and chatted to all, long after the show had ended.

If you are after some funnies to download in MP3, go an find a radio series called 'I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again'. It's from the mid 60's and is written and performed by the likes of John Cleese, Tim Brooke Taylor, Bill Oddy & Graham Garden. Although some of it is a bit dated now, alot of it is absolutly histerical. I currently have over 22 hours of episodes residing on my HDD Smile Laughing

I wish they repeated the series The Goodies, my mum didnt always allow me to stay up to watch it!!!

I also love Billy Connolly... as a stand up comedian. I wish I had the money to get all these classics on dvd.

Reminds me of when I came across some tapes with Blaster Bates written on them. Didn't know what to expect but turns out he's a fine after dinner speaker/comedian.

FWIW I found one of his monologues here, although written down doesn't do it justice, the way it is spoken/delivered makes it Very Happy

ah wicky wicky wicky, wicky wicky wicky.

I was driving home from work and turned into the wrong driveway by mistake and collided with a tree that I don't have. Thumbs Up

I cant believe you hadn't heard of jasper and felt the need to tell everyone he's a comedian. Laughing Thumbs Up

He was one of the few comedians that I was allowed to watch as a kid (deprived child Crying or Very sad ) cos he didn't often tell rude jokes. He was a true comic not like the ricky gerbilface's we have now.
