XBox Modding

Now the new Xbox is out and my old one is obsolete, I want to set it up for playing copied games. Can I just link it up to my laptop, download games, copy them onto the hard drive and play?

I heard a while ago it can all be done without a chip as long as you don't mind losing xbox live.

I have the originals, I just want to put them in storage out of the way of course....

You can soft-mod it to play "backups" without a chip.

i prefer to use mod chips but thats just me.

and yes you can connect the xbox to your laptop with a crossover network cable then you can FTP games/movies/music etc to the xbox HDD.

are you on about an Xbox then or an Xbox 360?

I softmod xbox's for 10 quid if your local to me. and Xbox 360's for 25 quid.

or if you want to do it yourself you'll need, a RETAIL game of either, 007 Agent under Fire, MechAssault or Splinter Cell.

you'll also need an XBOX pad that you don't need anymore, a male USB port, a microsoft memory card for the Xbox, and some software that I can provide if needed
