I have had a moped for a while, which I am now selling. I have only realised now while looking at the V5C that the Make and Model/Type of vehicle are very much incorrect, is this a simple thing to correct and how would it be done. There are no other incorrect details, and I now this was a stupid thing not to notice along time ago.
Cheers, Anthony

check engine and frame numbers match your v5 if they do then inform dvla
if they dont match then you have a ringer
contact the person you bought it from and try get your money back
if they wont contact the police if you do contact the police you probally will lose the bike and not get a penny back though Shocked

I bought it about 3 years ago, I've only just realised actually. So if the numbers match it is a simple phone call or visit to the dvla and they will then change it immediately. What do you mean by ringer. What sould I do if they don't match can I still get a valid V5C from the DVLA if I inform them. Also does anyone know where to check for the frame and engine numbers of an Italjet Dragster 50, are they on stickers.
Cheers, Anthony

I shouldn't worry too much, wouldn;t surprise me if it is a typo by the DVLA.

When I gt my Bandit it said on my V5C that the model was a GSXR1300. Does a Bandit look like a Hayabusa?

I just sent my V5 to the DVLA with amendments and it was fine.

Did it also say Suzuki in Make? Did you just write a letter with the correct Make and Model because there is no section to change Make and Model just over details. Also did they come to do any checks or did they simply send back the V5C with correct Make and Model?

OK i'm at my Dad's this weekend will have to check either monday or tuesday. I just need to know if the frame and enfine numbers are ever on stickers or are they always dented into the metal. If they are on stickers they might have been washed off. I'm quite sure, but not certain, that on the V5 (dispossed of) before they sent me the V5C replacement the Make and Model were correct so will probably get on the blower to them in the week to tell them that.

the frame number might be on a sticker under the seat.. but it will also be engraved into the metal, usually somewhere under the footboard area. if this is missing I wouldnt use the bike tbh..

Did you buy it brand new? If you did then there shouldn't be any problems in sorting it out. I have received a V5 before now for my brand new Aprilia than the V5 stated was a Lambretta. And that was only one of three mistakes on the same V5. I sent it back to the DVLA with a letter explaining the mistakes and within a week or so I had a new V5 with everything corrected.
