i too have done a harsh journey Inverness to Croydon.
Knowing what it is like to do that journey (i was on a 400 so im more hardcore).

oh they do, thats why i love visiting my grandparents the shop just round of the corner sells them, i eat loads when im up there then take back a load and freeze them. they are amazing, if your ever in scotland try get some.

Yeah, they are bloody fantastic. You heat them up then put butter and jam on them.

I have never come across any food that is quite as bad for you as a hot buttery with butter and jam. Almost pure fat with added salt. Some of them are actually solid when cold because of the lard setting, you have to heat them up to make them soft again.

It's only 550 miles or so, I get about 130 before reserve normally, cut out the stop/start and the accellerate/decellerate and that can go up by another 30 or so.

Started with half a tank, ran to the fumes of reserve once and got home without much left in it.

But surely you must have done that trip twice, there and back? So that deserves a double pat on the back.... I personally love the A1 and use it every time I go back oop norf to see my friends. But have yet to do it on my bike, unfortunately my accident makes riding long distances a bit painful for me.
