Went to meet my DAS instructor and have a go of the 500 WOW!

Well what can I say. Spoke to the DAS fella on the phone arranging the test times he asked had we been on a 500 before. We hadnt, so he suggested a drive down to see him (Rhyl North Wales) and have a go of the 500 before we go to start the DAS in 2 weeks.

Got there this morning put our gear on and there was a lovely red ER-5 all ready and waiting. My stomach turned not with nerves with excitement!! Twisted Evil

gets on, and wow it was amazing so different to driving my YBR. You dont have to "drive it" it just drives and it sooooo easy!!

Spent about 20 mins on the bike and spoke to the chap for a bit (sound guy Thumbs Up

) feel much more at ease and cant wait for my DAS now.

Did the U turn by getting the bitting point then using the back brake to control the turn it worked OMG i was so happy! did about 8 perfect U turns I just love the bike it was so nice to drive.

Cant wait now to do the DAS roll on 2nd August!

Sounds like you'll breeze the course (love at first sight?)

We've all got different opinions of the 500s they use on DAS. Obviously it's a step up from the 125, but once you've ridden a modern, smooth 600 or bigger, you'll think the 500 is a juddery tractor!

Good luck with the test/training - 8 perfect u turns after getting on a bike for the 1st time suggests you're fine (so far) with the low speed stuff, which I found hardest on my (two) tests!
