I cruised down to my local bike shop and outside saw parked a big copper orange deuville, with a sign on it good home wanted.

>65K on the clocks,

>touring panier covers (no originals)

>zero rust except on the bottom where the centre stand came down,

>few scuffs and scrapes here and there

>worn tyres

>2001 model

>unfitted touring screen.

>1 ex owner (poss long distance courier)

£850

and I know I can haggle him down to about £780 and get a service chucked in on top as well.

What does anybody reckon? , I'm just wondering if its worth it just as a hack to replace my current hack its older brother the NTV650,
and the fairing will be nice during winter time.

I've ridden a duvvie before and its like an NTV650 but carrying a pillion everywhere.

I'm just wondering @65K what happens to them , (need new clutch? , discs , valve clearances?).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Does seem a cheap price. But then it is a lot of miles for a five year old bike. Having said that the engine should be good for it. If you decide to have a look ask if there are any service receipts and MOTs to check the mileage. It'll also mean you can check if service done on regular basis. You can also check if any sales receipts for any bits fitted/fixed. As with any bike, they usually requires a bit of an overhall at high miles so I'd be aware I could be buying something that'll cost a bit to get right in the short term, but then I'd ask myself if that was reflected in the low sale price?

FWIW this weeks MCN has a side by side comparison between the old Deauville and the new one. I
