ok went for a ride out today with my dad up to kirkston pass as it was a gorgeous day set off from are house in kendal at about 1:30 then when we got to the top of kirkston pass we stopped off at for a drink and took some pics aswell.

https://img412.imageshack.us/img412/5432/dscf2981io3.jpg

then set off down the otherside to poole bridge then stopped of at hackthorpe for some dinner and another drink more pics.

https://img241.imageshack.us/img241/1802/dscf3005ev6.jpg

it was about 3:15 when we set off again i think went onto the A6 shap back to kendal i was leading back and then at the top off shap fell i was doing about 60 then the revs go right down and the back wheel locks up  so i shit myself a bit pulled the clutch in and rolled off the road into this lay-by my dad pulled in and thought id slammed the brakes onto to pull in but i new it had seized cause it was getting a bit hotter today and it made a funny noise when i started it at kirkston pass and i said to my dad i bet it doesnt make it to the end of the day and guess what it didnt so.

anyway a nice guy on a cbr600 came over to see if he could help and offered me a lift home on the back but i said it was ok as my dad was with us so he went off to get the car and trailer but had to pic my lil sis up from a school trip so i was stuck at the top of shap for about 1 hour and 15mins and took a pic as i was bored

https://img163.imageshack.us/img163/7799/dscf3007px8.jpg

got picked up at 5:15

https://img241.imageshack.us/img241/8629/dscf3011go3.jpg

then got home and took it to bits all fairings off and barrel and piston off and saw this turns out that it seized because the cable that attaches to the oil pump pully thing had come off some how :S

https://img412.imageshack.us/img412/8135/dscf3023vh6.jpg

the barrel looks ok but gonna get it checked out by my dealer and ordering a new piston kit should be up and running by the end of the week and the plan is get it going again run the new piston in sell it get a crosser on the road like a dtr 125 or something as i dont want a sport bike anymore beacause its annoying taking all the fairing off just to get to one thing and if you come off fairing cost a fortune so im gonna get a crosser untill i do my test then get a reliable sports bike

well thats the end of my little story for today : Clapping

It's bloody refreshing to see a 125 owner who looks after their bike. Most just abuse them then cry when it goes wrong before chucking it at a dealer screaming "fix it and my daddy will pay!"

Hope it isn't too long before you get it going again Thumbs Up

Considered chamfering the port edges while you've got the barrel off? Wink You could even send it to stan stephens for nicosil plating if the scoring isn't too deep... Whistle

That'll be a replate.

Jack, hope you're going to recommend replating after chamfering ports......

The other way round would be somewhat counter-productive lol

My god.. dont build it with that piston kit. The taiwanese kits are absolute pants, at the very least get some japanese rings on it. The thai ones are good for nothing!!

Its still taiwanese though. I can tell by the box and the ring packaging. I worked in the bike trade for 5 years so can spot them a mile off. The gold wing gaskets are ok though, used them in a few bikes without issue!
