Just sat for 3 hours with my 5 year old lad on the m6 car park in 34 degree heat with no drink and the goddamn aircon decided to pack in...

Whilst 20 or so bikes swiftly filtered through... (jammy barstards )

Everyone was out of their cars, engines off just standing on the motorway or sitting on the central reservation (was closed both ways)

The traffic was due to a serious accident, where someone had been killed (RIP poor chap )

In the end a lorry driver came over and gave me some water for my little boy very nice of him.

Me needs a bike and a bungee cord for the little un (or a sidecar atleast)

I brought my new bike home down the m6 last night but traffic was flowing nicely! Nightmare of a motorway at normal hours though lorry driver sounds like a top bloke!

just wait until your riding in torrential rain for an hour or riding in -3 temperatures and ice and snow in 5 months time then you will be glad you have a car to drive.

I've been having lessons from january til a few weeks ago when i passed, so have rode in cold and rain and i love it anyway...may change my mind after a while though

I'm training to be an instructor now so will have to ride in all weather

I recently spent a few hours on the M4 in 32degrees heat and the Highways agency bought me a load of fresh bottled water from sainsbury's.

Three years, so am using that time to do the IAM, watching them do cbt etc (am going to be an instructor where i learnt to ride and they like you to do the advanced stuff first). So its a long way off yet, but still can't wait.

However, it's not great sitting in boiling gridlocked London traffic in full leathers with 2 kettles boiling between you legs whilst the guy next to you is sitting in air-conditioned comfort.

I even had a bloke drive over my foot this week!

Even so I'd still rather have a bike!
