hitting people who deliberately get in your way

In the city centre I was pootling out like normal , and 4 chavs outside the Dainese store in Mancs (picadilly gardens) right in the centre of the road rush out to block my way arms out streached , so I drop a couple gears and give it some welly, and go steaming towards them and they jump out the way but one of them tries to grab me.

I little bit further down near that traffic light I'm nuclear type angry now and about to kick down my side stand and I see something in my mirror that looks like a knife and conviently the light changes and I filter away.


My question is in two parts:

#1 is a chav purposely blocks you way like this and you hit him where is the liability? (considering if you stop you'll be beaten up)

#2 whats the legal situation on being assaulted while on a bike? , I'd had a pretty crappy day in the office boiling hot if it wasn't for the knife like thing I'd have gotten off and beaten them up. Since bit armour and helmets are great for blunt force trauma (fists feet and bricks ) but useless against knives.

any suggestions?

I got booted off my moped, shame it couldn't go faster. I was doing about 40mph & went under a car, it obviously could of been ugly so if they did get caught they would of got done for more then assault.

Not sure what would happen if you run over one like that, they would probably ask why didn't you swerve blablabla.

I would have done the same Itchy, its a bit risky to face a dude with a knife, only try to disarm them as a last resort.

your natural reaction was probably to run mine would not have been cause i cant stand to be put down or intimadated. this is why i look like a hard face bitch infront of them.

i would have run them down and claimed he was pulling me off the bike and by the time i got control i clipped him with it trying to get away. the police are not going to believe chav scum!

Well Firstly you would have needed the space to have confronted him, if he was right behind you while you were getting off the bike you wouldn't have had this.....Also while you're dealing with said numpty the other three would have wrecked your bike.....So in hindsight you did the right thing mate.....

If you got a decent look at his face, keep an eye out for him when you haven't got the bike to worry about.....

my ex broke a chavs arm once when they where stealing his car, they where rolling it down the hill and as they did he ran towrds them with a truncheon grabbed the door open, the chav went to grab the handle to pull it closed again and he broke his arm! chav could have claimed instead they tried to run me over when driving off and i wished i could have found a brick to brick there windscreen at that time. never heard nothing after that or no trouble.

A year ago i was coming home from work in croydon at 1am and stopped at some traffice lights. Next thing i know my suspension dives and i pitch forward, some little pikey t*at has jumped on my bike! i turned around and politely told him to *uck off! he was so drunk he asked for a ride home so i gunned the throttle and tipped him off the back. Did it infront of about 75 people and aint heard anything yet from the police so guess it wasnt a problem

You did the right thing, no point going up against a cunt with a knife. On the subject of mowing-them-down, I've hit quite a number of pedestrians over the years and to be honest, seeing as most times they just basically fall over with a bruise on their leg, there isn't much to do. It's very possible that *you* will stack it also though, which wouldn't do at all. Just rise above it, keep going.

Happened before, a group chavs provoked a mate who was minding his own business, he retaliated and cained two that never got away quick enough, old bill find out and he get a right rodgering by the law and a criminal record
