If you have loads of money I'd say go for the Aprilia RS50, they are very expensive but quite quick if derestricted. If not get an auto (Gilera Runner or any Peugeot are the best ones to tune), they're not proper bikes but they're quick and it will save your mate having to wait in laybys in the pissing rain when an old geared bike would break down! I had an old Vespa with a 110 cylinder kit and I would definitely advise steering clear of one of those, it was seizing up every 200 miles and now I've given up fitting new pistons on it!

They all go about the same speed due to them sharing the same engine, you will get about 50mph if you are lucky. What I would suggest is a crosser type 50cc motorcycle as they are the most versatile, they aren't slow and the best for wheelies and stoppies etc.

There is the one in my signature for sale, served me well, at 16 you aren't going to be breaking land speed records and it's important your friend understands this before commiting to a bike.

Thumbs Up
