I would give yourself a month or so. Not so much as to sort out your finances, but to give yourself a chance to look around and try a LOT of bikes. Also go to a few meets and see what takes your fancy.

Was it Das or just the A1 test you did. If it wasn't DAS then, as you won't have had much if any experieince moving a big bike around, I would strongly suggest that whatever you buy for your first big bike is:

Arrow Not fully faired
Arrow Second hand
Arrow Something you don't mind dropping

As without much practice you WILL drop it, more likely than not, just backing it out of your garage. If it's fully faired you will be gutted. So get a cheap second hand ER-5, GPZ500s or sim. Don't dispair, it's only for a few months, nothing perminant. Get the experience and then sell it on for the same you bought it. It's exerience that you shouldn't ignore lightly.

If you did do DAS, then what ever you buy.... fit R&G's the moment you get it Wink

I waited a sensible amount of time after I passed my test to go bike shopping.

I waited a day and a half. Razz

Thats not such a bad idea - in fact I now have a set of R+G's waiting for the bike!

no extreme I did a cbt for 2 years and ridden a 125nsr for that time and then did a das for 2two days on a gs500.which I found under powered in top gear I want a bike that is semi naked for that very reason plus the fact that it is easier to get to the engine, with out breaking the fairing lug's etc also what are r&g's ?
