Sorry if this has been posted already, but did you see that airbag jacket test done by those stunt riders?

That was all about PR, the test itself was pointless at the speed and force it was done!

My dad saw it and said it looked like a good idea. Didn't they try it on some stunt riders?

Yeah they did get some stunt riders to test it, but the test consisted of doing a donut whilst sat on the bars and falling off backwards at a few mph. Think the media covering it were a little underwhelmed

Yeah i saw it. The guy fell from around 2 ft and did an exaggerated footballer style role. He could have done it in jeans and a tshirt and been fine.

Well, I can't say I was a bad idea, but the way they tested is was a bit haphazard, with the doughnut there little or no forward momentum that would put you into a 'roll' or a 'slide', still extra bit of protection can't hurt (well the wallet maybe). as for the video its self looked like it was taken off You Tube.

which one was it , the Dainese Israeli one or the Webmoto Japanese one ,

I think we debated it at length and they were both flawed in that the dainese one snaps your head back/bounce (ie why car airbags deflate) and cause lower spine injury + slides rather well.

The webmoto one caused bouncing.

ok so let me get this right it made them bounce Laughing , what happened if they hit a back of a car say doing 100mph, got lucky and flew over the top what happens when they land they take back off ? they will be going faster bouncing along the road then when they came off Neutral Laughing
