My father inlaw has just got 3 xda's for some of his workers, so we got tomtom and a wired gps kit and for the life of me I cant get the xda to recognise the gps unit.

I did it excactly the same as on my ipaq which worked fine but no joy with the xda's

Could anyone shed any light?

you get the bluetooth, tomtom wired and other nmea wired and no matter what i do none of the options work. I've been through all of the different port options in the wired options but no joy, the thing thats pissing me off is that every time i set up a hp ipaq it just works.

tap on START --> SETTINGS --> CONNECTIONS --> CONNECTIONS --> BEAM and untick the BEAM box then reset the XDA and then launch TT and select the TT wired if its a TT receiver your using or OTHER CABLE NMEA if its a 3rd party brand. baud shold be 4800 and serial cable on COM1.
