I've used the bike parking near terminal one, about as secure as the rest of the place and I've never had a problem. You could try one of the other parking places such as skyparksecure but I'm not sure if they take bikes.

Did have a problem with my helmet once when they would'nt let me take it on the plane, I had to leave it with lost property and pay a fiver to pick it up. I now take a big rucksack and carry it in there inside a helmet bag.

I've seen the bike parking near terminal one , it looks okay and does have cctv. Its just off a roundabout when you come in to terminal one . (basically it appears to be inside the roundabout).

Thing is i've never done it, just because of the leathers, helmet situation. I came close recently but still opted for the car.

I've read somewhere that there's another parking company at Manchester airport, (Premier?), but again what about lid, leathers etc.

Plus in this weather, you may well stink when you get there, okay if your business class I suppose, I have seen showers in the BA lounge in terminal 3.

I'd realy like a solution to all this, because I end up setting off stupidly early in the car, just to make sure I get there (ie hold ups on M62/M60), wheras the bike would be the ideal situation.

How much would bike parking cost you?

We live about 15 miles from the airport, happy to stow gear and bikes for a weekend for anyone who needs it (in the garage). if your flights are outside office hours could probably manage a lift if you bribe me with chocolate or wine......

ost you maybe £30 max in a taxi, or £6 on the train from here (about 45 mins, change at Deansgate)

Again, happy to let you leave your bike and gear at mine and can get the train in. £ 2.50 from Bolton, only takes 20 mins. Or sure mother could give you a lift.

Pretty easy to find that, just come off the motorway follow signs for T3, go past T3 and its on your left hand side, about 500 yards from the T3 Departures enterance.

Think theres a free bus to the Terminal as well. Although you could quite easiley walk. I always used to check in at T3 and shoot up ringway road for a quick Pint in the Airport Hotel pub end of Ringway road., do a bit of Plane spotting Embarassed Laughing

Im not sure - the number is 0161 489 2020 if you want to ring and find out.

Im taking my bike gear over to Guernsey with me so i dont know about that.

On another note i went to J&S in northwich the other day and went via manchester airport on the way home.

I found a bike park area by T1/T3 areas, there were lots of bikes parked there, with alot more motorbike chains on the railings & covered by cctv. There are ground anchors to hook chains up to which is good. Looks like its free too as i never saw any parking charge signs, people there and none of the bikes had pay&display tickets or discs on them.

Here are a few pictures from the bike park area, hope this helps someone as it has helped me.

The pictures are of the bus pickup area and to the right of the pictures, thhe other side of the 'short stay carpark' is the open top carpark for pickups.

having seen your garage Wink I'd opt for the lost property method,(more likely to find it on my return) Laughing
