Oh shit indeed.

Looking at the first picture I thought the damage doesen't look so bad, but then the second picture!

Maybe the water cusioned the fall, it will be alright after it dries out!

well the story is the daytona is brand new and the rider over shot a corner and parked it in the water. rider ok the person who is takeing the pics is the rider and the guy with his thumb up is his m8. oh and sorry about posting the pics in the rong order.

I wonder what happens to a nice hot engine when it's plunged into cold water? I think they'd need a bit more than WD40 to sort it out Smile

Looks like Deals-gap in the USA.

Engine will in all probability be fine once it's dried out and flushed through, providing it didn't fluid-lock and bend a conrod. My mate rode his KLR650 into unexpectedly deep drainage gullies on more than one occasion when he was touring Australia. Drained the oil into a mess tin and set it to dry. Tank off, air filter out, turn the bike upside down, sparkplug out and wait an hour. Put it all back together and off you go. Don't use reserve 'till the tank's been drained.
