what can fall off the front of an aprilia rs125?

Its called guess what fell off my bike!!!!

Seriously i was out driving on sunday in the town, behaving myself not going above 30mph got to set of lights, stopped and all i heard was CLUNK! I pulled in as soon as i could had a look but couldnt see anything. I kept driving and got worse than usual vibrations through the bars and her handling is all off, also there is a squeeking niose (realy loud, can heard above the engine with my helmet on!) on and off when am driving, so i know its not my brake disc as thats a regualr niose. Also the engine sounds fine and the brakes appear to be working alright, but my brake pads move about a bit in the callopers, is that normal.

The garage i go to is closed till next week and other places are booked out.

Has anyone got any idea's what has fallen off??? I aint looking for any specific answer just a few suggestions Cheers


Also just to have rant i was suppose to be going away for a few night tomorrow on the bikes with me other half but we are now having to get the bus as i aint sure about driving when me bike no handling or sounding right.

Personal guess would be that nothing has fallen off but that your wheel bearings have failed in style.

You could try the bearings, Wheel and head stock.
Lift the front end and pull / push and spin the front wheel check for any free play. Also turn the steering and feel for any roughness or tightness.
A little brake pad movement is good it means they are not binding on.
A faulty wheel bearing would also squeak if it was pretty bad.

when my bearings went in my front wheel the disc would knock against the calipar ( squeeking clicking jamming and the steering went to hell )

Many thanks people By what you have described it fits whats been going on perfectly, will check it out tomorrow if there is any play in the front wheel.

Has anyone got any idea how much this will cost to fix?

I dont have anything to hold the front up with! (cant afford front stand just now either)or believe me i would have a dam good attmept. The local garage is only £25 an hour labour so I cant complain about it

Took it to the garage today and it turns out it was the front wheel bearings that where done. The mechinic did say it was the worst one he had seen in a while. Cheers folks
