Dont have a post code that starts SW10 do you?
IIRC They are classed as a commercial vehicle so the road tax banding is different to a normal car? I could be wrong now though as they changed with the new budget... ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

the L200 is a fantastic off-road vehicle, on a par with the Landrover Defender. Can be boosted with a Mitsubishi "power commander" style unit to give more power, and some places are also building over-drive units to aid motorway cruising.
The L200 is switchable 2 - 4 wheel drive, with a transfer box, rather than central diff. This makes driving in 4 wheel drive on the road rather awkward. However, this also means that in 4x4 mode, at least one wheel front and back will be turning, as the power is transferred equally front and rear, whereas a differential would apportion the power to the end that can move more easily (limited slip difs don't count here)
As the L200 ALSO has a diff lock on the rear axle, it means in muddy conditions, you can force both rear wheels to turn, whether they are gripping or not, which is preferable to an unlocked diff, where the wheel with less traction will just spin.
landrover has a diff lock (eg on the discoery) but that just locks the central diff, making it like the L200 is without a difflock on.
the Nissan navaro has a better name for comfort and road manners, but for load carrying and off-roadability the L200 is far superior.

Hi, my dad had a L200 for a while. excellent truck, very smooth I thought for road, drove nicely, don't think it really cost him much and nothing really went wrong with it, he abused it a little bit too and it was fine..
I love them, about to buy an Animal model as soon as I can afford it (almost there ) you can just about fit 2 bikes on the back with the tailgate down
The warrior is pretty much the same the animal, but looks far nicer and costs £5k + more lol.. |

Yeah, I've had 2 in the past 3 years.
Good off road but slightly agricultural (as you might expect) for road use. Worst point for me is the paint, which seems very thin and easily scratched. And the turning circle is crap.
You might want to check out the owners club website
