Bar ends!?

How the f*** do you remove them!!!???

I've unscrewed the allen bolt as much as it will come out, tried yanking the bloody bar end and it comes out about 5mm and doesn't budge any further...

Anything else holding it in place? I don't even know how the bar ends stay fixed in place?

Any help appreciated - I'm away to have another go and shout and swear at it.....

mine ripped out when it slid along the ground, you could try that

they are held on by the allen bolt pulls a nut tight that then squashes a rubber washer out that grips the inside of the bar, pull harder you big girl

They might work by the bolt pulling a wedge into the bar end, expanding it inside the bar.

So you need to unscrew the bolt a bit then whack it back in with a hammer to knock the wedge out.

It'll be really obvious when it comes out.

Them with a rubber mallet and theres not much you can't shift
(needle nose ones came in handy for stubborn carb screws even!)

FWIW I suggest the allen bolt needs further removal.
Part 9 is the expander (part#: 56272-44500). It's that you need to unscrew from.

loosen the bolt then tap bolt back in this will loosen them

Never got them removed in the end - but got the new grips fitted by heating them and the slipped over the barends no problem.

Thanks for the advice guys - it will come in handy when I get round to replacing the barends themselves.

I now have nice grippy Renthal grips fitted
