Hi,

When i insured my R6 at 19 it allowed me to say that my licence was restricted for 2 years which i put, anyway just browsing there site & it looks like they changed that policy, now they won't accept anyone who is not on a unrestricted licence??

Is anyone else in the same boat with Bennetts? Does it effect anything?

Thanks.

It's their website. Phone them, they still do insurance for restricted folk. Never liked their site to be honest.

I know that they don't all ask, but they should mention it on my certificate.

And thats what you have a full license. (just restricted to 33bhp for 2 years, you can still ride on motorways, give pillions, ride abroad..). The date you passed your A2 is the date for years to come when you passed your test, not 2 years after.

My last insurer didn't seem to fussed about the restriction, but I sent them proof anyway, my currently insurer told me they did not require it.

Why on earth are you with Bennetts?

There are much better companies , offering a better service for less money. because they don't blow thosends on advertising.

I call them yearly just for a laugh! They are twice as expensive as my insureres who are brilliant. Give them a call www.biketeam.co.uk
Two people i have referred recently have come away happy as larry, and i am reducing my premium at the same time.

You have a PM.

Gradog, I have just saved your insurer here for later use when my insurance is up for renewal. I am currently with Equity Red Star via direct bike or bike direct Confused and I have to say my insurance is good but you've nothing to lose by getting other quotations. My hubby was with Bennetts and has since just changed as their renewal quote was a joke! I certainly would not use Bennetts neither Sad

I've found BikeTeam to be less helpful than Bennetts when you actually want to claim. They're much quicker to try and pass the problems on to other people and don't seem to help too much.

They are excellent with any policy problems though. A big word of warning, which I didn't notice when I took out a policy with BikeTeam, is that although they're great for young riders, they won't insure you on anything 600cc+ until you're over 23.

Rick.

The reason i chose them was because they gave me the lowest quote. I was 19, riding a R6, worst area & ungaraged. So not many companys were giving me better deals, i'm happy with the one i have now. & so far they've been good.

When i get another bike i'll have a look around again.
