Just received a letter in the post from spain! Shocked

It informed me that I have aparrently won 615,810 euro's and I need to contact my agent Martin Lopez to claim my prize. Did a quick google search on the 'International Lotto commission' and it turns out (unsurprisingly) that it's a scam. They requested my details, bank account number, sort code etc and aparrently usually request you fax them a copy of your drivers license or passport and a payment to the handling agent to get the money sent to you.

Just thought I'd warn people, oh and there's a contact number 0034 657 204 505, have fun with Martin. Wink

Yeah name and address was perfect, at first I thought it was another joke from M1ke but a google search tells me the scammers are into sending letters these days and there's a lot of people about who've received exactly the same letter as me.

Not tried it yet but aparrently the phone number is real and will get answered by some guy trying to con you, so they are trying harder these days, even if the letter was made up with wordart. Rolling Eyes

It's quite an old scam.

They usually get your names of mailing lists that can be bought. There are companies out there that compile and sell them. Evil or Very Mad

I had to google it to decide whether it was a scam or yet another joke from m1ke via royal mail, fanny features.

Dodgy porn site?
seriously though it's worrying what they can get hold of. Luckily the OP had the intelligence.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 20 years, 13 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
