Have Reading/West Berks council just won the lottery or something?

There's roadworks going on everywhere at the moment. They've messed up two of my favourite roads with that damn surface dressing that makes anything faster that 15 mph hazardous to health and paintwork, and just to top it off they've decided to rip up the road outside my house!

Great Evil or Very Mad

I wouldn't mind if they would do it properly, but all they are doing is lobbing gravel down and letting cars squish it in to the tarmac. Rubbish if you're on a bike, not following the lines where the cars have gone. Why are they allowed to do this?

(rant over)

Good roads currently ruined by surface dressing are B481 nr Nettlebed, the A417 around Rowstock and quite a few roads round Sonning/Sonning Eye
