hey everyone, i've been given a resit assignment to do for uni (its really important) and just need some second opinions on a few of the questions.

If possible could anyone in the know point out (using arrows) where the forces would be acting on these two diagrams?

Much kindness will come your way if you can help

thanks

The first one uses the light side of the force and the secong one uses the dark side.

Happy to help.

The forces would be acting at each pivot point as well as all compression and tension points along the levers.

Am I missing something here?

Surley the force applied in the first scenario is the 'woman' lifting the tailgate with the fulcrum being the hinge.

The second being the jib the force is the load being lifted.

I think

It has been 12 years since I did anything like that and to nowhere near the same level so for fuck sake don't take what I've done as correct.

There is something at the back of my mind about Gauss equations and drawing arrows on structures which resulted in me doing the following. It would be great if it agrees with what you've done (and I would be more than impressed with my feat of memory).

Probably WAY too simplistic and quite probably wrong, and I'm not even going to attempt the maths.

But since nobody else wanted to have a crack at it....

The whole point of you doing those questions is to demonstrate your level of understanding.

I suggest you study a text book until you understand what is being asked of you.

CLUE: why are the drawings either to SCALE or have a SCALE suggested ?
