Has anybody ever been to Rivington Barn.

link: www.rivingtonbarn.com

It's supposed a bit like the Sherburn of Lancashire. I went over to see some family in Wigan the other week and drove back passed Rivington (there was no meet that day). There’s some great roads / scenery, the infamous A666, and reservoirs and the like.

Has anybody been there on a meet night, and is it worth the extra 100 mile over squires

I didn't know they had any meet nights there! If we go it is usually a Sunday afternoon, but we've not been for ages.

It was quite empty on Sunday, guess everyone's on their hols.

I'm not sure they meet there in the week, just sat/sun. There is a pub meet though during the week. It will be on the site.

Was up there last May if memory serves me correctly, was a top meet. Lots of bikes and plenty of 'eye candy' in leathers (i am refering to women).

I would reccomend a ride round the 'trough of bowland' (probably not spelt correctly)

yes i have i used to do my sunday or bank holiday 100mile bike ride to southport and up to the barn, i used to love watching the bikes racing over the top often catching one to echelon off, now some 5yrs later i'm back to engine power from pedal power doing myself what i used to love watching the riders over rivington doing.

its good especially as you pass over the back and across to edgerton there are some really fast roads that you can get away with hamering it on. fun day out especially if the bbq is burning at the barn Smile

Sunday was pretty normal (packed) not as packed as i have seen it. But the BBQ was going, the sexy ladeeyz where out. And some pretty tasty bikes too, think the meet on wednesday is on lower barn as opposed to Upper barn hall.
