I'm looking at Catalyst switches, but not particularly knowledgeable, so hoping someone out there is.

At the moment we've got a Cisco 3550 24 port power over Ethernet switch.
This is used for telephony and data, each with their own vLan.
This is for a CS2000 telephony system - connected by a broadband router (don't expect that to mean 'owt to anyone).

I'm running out of ports on the catalyst. I'd like another catalyst ideally as I am to some degree familiar with IOS.
I don't need any fancy features, it just needs to be able to deal with the vLans basically.

It needs to be as cheap as possible (though new, so no ebay-specials).
If we can get a cheaper catalyst because it doesn't have power, that isn't a problem, as I can leave all the phones on the current one.

So - can any one recommend me models to look at?

If I can save some money and not have the power, I'd prefer to do that.

Ideally I'd like a 48 port switch, without the power - I may at some point be wanting to connect quite a lot more stuff to it for bulk testing, depending on what else happens.
(I don't mind having power if I don't have to pay lots more for it however)

Well, it seems some blagging has been done and we're now getting a powered 48 port 3550 to replace the 24 port one, which'll do me nicely, thank you Smile.

Cheers for the replies anyway Thumbs Up.
