We were just taking about the DT-series... late '60s for the DT-1 I think.

Those old stinky 2 strokes get under your skin. I've had my KH since 1990, its been like a bleeding albatross around my neck!

Twice its left me stranded in places I had no other option than to spend the night in the local nick! It still tries to kill me, humiliate me and bankrupt me.

And on practically every simple job, it fights back... changing the 2 front indicators on Sunday (just the lamp units, not the stems) took 3 hours! I had to resort to my trusty rubber mallet in the end... it was lucky I didn't reach for my equally trusty cigarette lighter...

I'm going to start a new thread about what bikes make the perfect mini do-it-all collection. I reckon that the 3 bikes I have on the road now cover practically every genre and style (apart from V-twin custom).

2 stroke, 4 stroke, single/multi cylinder, race rep, learner, track day, off road, classic or naked... I've got a bike for every occasion.
It might be interesting to see what others have, would aspire to own, or regret selling.

I've had my main 3 bikes for 13 years now, I just can't imagine a modern bike doing anything any better (within my personal skills envelope) than any of them. And I have been on some test rides of modern tackle, some so called the "best" out there and been left scratching my head thinking why do they feel worse to ride than 17/18/40 year old machines.
I look forward to seeing what people have to say.

I'd like to finish off by saying, like a lot of the good things in life, you never forget your first DT125R.
