I read that and it sounded like a joke , hoax maybe ,
why? , this goes against they satellite tracking ideas , ie if you can't speed they can't fine and ban you , this is a lucrative source of income.
that said by 2015 when the infrastructure is planned to be in place (read 2020) , the tories will be in power and might cancel it , and everybody with an bit of sense and resources will have emigrated.
the government are apparently planning for free petrol it is alledged (FT to offset the cost of the road tolls)
as the massive 60-100bn revenue from the motorist will have to be made up everywhere else, considering 6bn is £400 per person (ie cost of war in Iraq) ,income tax will have to go up £4500 per person , which means anybody earning less than 40K will not have any incentive to work and be better off on the dole. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The Transport Department last night insisted Mr Ladyman is unlikely to make the ISA bike compulsory
I read that and laughed,
the government ALWAYS says this and then decides to make them compulsory , think ID cards , tuition fees , ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Unfortunately, it's not bullshit. Stephen Ladyman, along with others (including two BMF officers), has test ridden the ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaption) bike in the last few months.
The opinion of Richard Olliffe, Government Relations Executive for the BMF, is that the current technology is not sufficiently up to scratch.
However, it will only be a matter of time before the technology is capable of doing the job.
One of the main things necessary will be the bringing on line of the European Galileo satellite, as it will be more accurate than the US system the technology is currently using.
Don't assume that the technological aspects will mean that it doesn't happen. This needs to be fought on a personal freedom level. Both the BMF and MAG have been warning riders about this for years.
If you feel strongly enough you should join either the BMF or MAG.
According to Richard Olliffe, there will a warning system in place which will warn you before cutting your speed.
The warnings currently in use on the ISA bike are a visual display, an audible warning and, just for the ladies, a vibrating seat.
RO likened the vibrating seat to the sensation one gets when sitting on a washing machine on spin. I wonder how he knows what that feels like! ____________________ With experience comes age. |

For central government it is not a money making scheme. 3m speeding tickets at £60 a shot is only £120m, before you take off the running costs. About 1 days road taxation.
It is a money making scheme for those busy building local empires runing the scamera partnerships.
Realistically only something like 5% of road accidents are caused by excessive speed over the speed limit. So the highest saving they can achieve is about 170 deaths a year. How many will be caused by lack of attention from forcing people to drive slowly.
All the best

I didn't mean central gov I mean local gov and the pyramid scheme it is , anyway if this system was in place me and me NTV would be a bloody pulp of metal and flesh , bloody colbalt blue BMW did not like the fact that I filtered past him easy , and gave chase, he didn't like the fact a 93 bike was faster than his new BMW and gave chase , which I got both footpegs down running for my life (note stopping and letting him pass did not work as in my mirrors looked like he wanted run me down and didn't slow at all) ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Also the Galeleo satellite system makes great accuracy claims fr a system that doesn't exist yet , that said GPS is fairly accurate cept the US uses the degrade ability lots so that funny folks who may build GPS missiles can't use it against them.
Ans we all know how systems are claimed to be incredible and turn out not to be the case (ie the kwak 17.5K RPM red line etc) ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
