I'm looking for a new sporty exhaust can for my CB500, I've seen a couple around but wanted something a little louder and something that makes it sound like it has more grunt, possibly even the ability to take out the muffler...

Anyone else got a CB500 with a nice noisy exhaust or know of where to find some?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris

Micron do them for the cb500.

Laser exhausts also.

https://www.apexleisure.co.uk/arroadracesystems.htm

Not sure what year your cb is but arrow might make a system which would probably cost a good bit of moeny but sound fantastic. Twins with race systems do sound fantastic in my opinion. I had an er5 with a remus system on. Mmmm...

There is a cb500 cup so if you google for that (perhaps there is a dedicated forum somewhere) and see what their recommendations are for a can/system.

When I had mine I replaced the downpipes with stainless from M&P and replaced the silencer with a Remus Innovation alloy race can. If I remember rightly (it was some time ago!), I think the downpipes were about £100 and the can (with intermediate pipework - which I had to wait for) was about £250-£300 ish). It sounded lovely! Smile

I upjetted from the standard 120 to 122 and the bike ran sweet as a nut.

A warning if you decide to go for the Laser system, I think you may have to remove the centre stand to accommodate.

Whoever had the bike before me put the silver down pipes on... I keep cleaning em up back to silver but half an hour turns em bronze... lol. There's also a motad exhaust on there, it hardly makes any noise at all and most of the rev sound ends up coming from the engine... sounds a bit dull especially with the bloody 33bhp kit on there...

I'll have a look into those links, cheers guys!
