Yeah, im 16. Meaning, im also young, uneducated and rude. Surprised Adding to that ive currently had it after about 5 days of running circles around myself over a geared 50. Being my rude self, I WANT ONE NOW DAMNIT! And am so damn tempted by either an RS2 or an XR6 both being 'Plastic fantastic' or 'Artistic Genius' depending on how the photos taken; weird that.

So, I need you, to talk me out of doing something im going to probably regret whatever happens.

Im not looking for arguements, im just looking for personal opinions on how they're going to run, cost and perform. Oh and telling me if i'll need to carry a stage light with me to stop the XR looking dull would be cool as well.

Thanks

Sports 50's tend to be a waste of money. If you drop it, it will cost a lot of money to replace fairing panels and this means you will pay more for your insurance. The only advantage of having a sports 50 over a regular scooter is that it teaches you to use gears so that as soon ay you are 17, you can take your test.
However, a crosser style bike would be a much better choice. It still teaches you how to use gears, but will be cheaper to buy in the first place and will be much cheaper to fix if you drop it (lets face it, most new riders drop their bike sooner or later)
Then, after a years riding (when you are 17) you can take your test and get a 'propper' sports bike if you like (33bhp mind)

Hope this helps you Thumbs Up

I would say go for a trail bike rather than a sports for the reasons jay_666 has already said.
Although sports 50s look good in the photos, in my opinion they really don’t look that good in real life, often looking very small and some times plasticy. The trail bikes are basically the same size as proper large bikes, most people think my bike is at least a 125cc when they see it.
