Hey guys my name is gogz ad I'm new here. I have been interested in bikes for a while and I am going to sit my CBT soon (I'm 19) and I'm thinking of either buying a Honda CBR 125, Aprilia rs 125 or a Cagiva Mito. I heard that I could by a 250cc but have it restrcited so that it is no larger than 33bhp. Is this true? thanks in advance

gogz

You can only ride 125's that put out less than 14.6BHP or are restricted to output less than 14.6BHP.

You will have to take your A2 test and Motorcycle Theory / Hazard Perception test to be able to ride any size bike restricted to 33BHP.

Alternatively you can wait until you are 21 and do your DAS test... Which you usually take on a 500cc bike, once you've passed that you can ride any size bike with no restrictions. But bear in mind that you are 19 now and your CBT will run out when you are 21 (Exactly two years)

You need a valid CBT at the time of taking your test.

Regards,

Toby

if you live in this country (britain) you can ride a 125 on a cbt, no one wille ever check if its restricted so if you want fun get an rs125 or nsr125 as they have twice the power and twice the running costs

if you want to be sensible and economical (and reliable) get a cg125
