The nine stranded me three times late last year - here's once:

Intermittent electrical fault, after fitting new discs and getting the wheels powder coated. Rolling Eyes

Got dyno'd to see if it would cut out but it never did (at least i got a some power runs though - it's making 127bhp, it turns out - not bad for 98k miles).

Anyway, for one reason or another, I fancied a change. A serious change. Seeing as I ride 75% unmarked back lanes, some sort of adv type bike seemed the best bet. After a lot of umming and arring (I came close to throwing 6k at Tiger 800 XCAs a couple of times), I eventually bought this old 1150GS for £3.4k with 45k on it (I think this is not a cheap price btw):

Tidy example. What year is it? Single spark engine makes it pre-2002 should think.

Yeah me too, kind of. The nine was a really good bike and i enjoyed it a lot - great power, and on new-ish tyres it rode well too. But as I said, it wasn't really the best bike for back lanes, which is where i live and most of what i choose to ride.

My mate had a very similar ZX9 in the early 2000s which had an untraceable misfire - spent all one trip to IoM changing the plugs which is no easy task as I recall,.

Grim.

Mine was rock solid for 80k - can't remember how much valve adjustment I had, maybe three lots. It did try and kill me a once, with a collapsed swing arm bearing. But in general it was ace. I got addicted to it tbh.
