I want to have a sticker made up to go on my bike. Well, not really a sticker because I don’t want it to be self-adhesive.

What I want is to have my name printed in black onto clear plastic which I would put on the tank, but which I could peel off again should I want to. I don’t want anything permanent nor nothing which is going to ruin the tank paintwork.

You used to be able to get window stickers like this where it would stick to your window but wasn’t self adhesive so could be peeled off again. Mind you, even if I could get this done, I don’t know whether this type of thing would actually stick to the tank anyway.

Does anybody know where I might be able to get this done?

A normal sticker shouldn't damage the paintwork and is really easy to peel of later with a hair dryer and/or some hot water poured over it. Once warmed it will come of leaving no or very little in the way of residue. Any glue left will come off easily with a bit if WD40.

It opens your options up a lot more if you use normal stickers. You could even use those pre-made letters in places such as WHsmiths.

Dunno where to get it from bar a sign printers...

The vinyl transfers that some people on here make are quite easy to remove IIRC.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

You can get temporary vinyl that comes off easily should you want to, but most vinyl can be a bitch to get off after its been left for a while

I'm on setting up a sign writing business (will be a while yet but have the gear) so I've been doing my research on all things sticky!! Thumbs Up

Allthough it should be mentioned that when it has come off the paint will have faded at different rates, so yes there will be no sticker but a big sticker shaped unfaded patch of paint..

Just a thought..
