Just wondering you guys could help me out, i really fancy a nice adventure/enduro bike, and my budget will be around 2 grand, any ideas??

Edit: Ideally one that i could stick a passenger on Mr. Green

Edit again: After looking around the forums, and coming across this post by Korn ( https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=101178 ) - Thats exactly the type of bike i would like. I'm finding this model very hard to come by though Sad

The BMW FS650 Enduro reviewed in bike this week.

Looks pretty good piece of kit, fun and manageable for all conditions, on road off road etc... Bit rough and tumble and looks like it could eat up the miles without being as expensive and unmanagable as the RS1200.

Saw one this weekend at a BMW dealership going for £2199 basic, perfect condition low mileage (relativly for that type of bike) and the nice yellow colour scheme just like in Bike. All kinda optionals, Top box, Panniers, heated grips/windguards engine bars the lot. And i reckon that price is argueable.

This bike would be my first choice without a doubt, as I love the look of them. I just assumed I wouldn't get one for that price, I'll have a look around, thanks Smile

By 'enduro', are you looking for one that would actually be good at doing enduros, or just that kinda look?

One thats nice and comfy for long/medium distance trips, and could go off road if it really needed to. I just like the look of adventure/enduro bikes.

Fair play - something like the BMW would be ideal then.

Sounds like looks and comfort are the most important issues - in which case I'd get some test rides and look at bike's in dealers as other people's views aren't going to be too relevant.

To be pendantic note that technically this:

Sort of thing is an enduro bike, which looks a bit different to the style of bike you are considering, which is more 'desert rally' (though they are much modded for that role.

Think the term your looking for is "dual sport"

I'd go for the f650 too if you can get one in the price range, but if not you could get a very nice africa twin or super tenere perhaps?

Whatever you get i'd reccomend crash bars if you ever plan going anywhere offroady, its more a question of when not if your gonna drop your lovely shiney plastics into the jagged rocks Sad and a good soild bash plate while your at it!

the only other one i can think of is the Yamaha tenere 600. It has a reputation for being bullet proof, and the engine has been used in dozens of other bikes.

G, i'd say that ktm was more of a crosser or scrambler rather than an enduro. An enduro to me is something that's made for big off road trips and sluggish greenlaning, rather than hooning aound on quiet tracks.
