Top speed is an Indicated 105mph which is probably a True 95mph

Anything higher than that is a lie unless it has been tuned (overbore etc)

I wouldn't, but its up to you! If you like the bike get it, but don't buy a bike because it has a good top speed. What about acceleration, comfort, reliability, service costs, insurance?

i think the nsr is a good bike.
acceleration and top speed depends on wot sprokets the bikes got
insurances aint that bad on it
reliability depends on if u service it regulary.
i mean the nsr is the most reliable than the rs125 and mito and i never had any problems with my nsr, starts 1st time even when its cold out side

I can answer some of them

Acceleration: is fairly quick for a 125 derestricted 0-60 in roughly 6-7 seconds.

Comfort: I did 260 miles in one seating (apart from 5 minute fuel stops) and was fine no aches or pains as the NSR has a more relaxed riding position than some people think.

Reliablility: Mine hasn't had a problem in nearly a year of ownership, just use good oil and dont thrash it when its cold, let it warm up preoperly.

Service Costs: Between £80-£120 from a Honda Dealer

Insurance: Depending on age but mine was £585 (could have got it cheaper) TPFT, but I have 2 years NCB going on from another policy this year so it depends on your circumstances. I.E Age, Area you live in, Licence type (provisional or full), NCB etc

If it costs euro are you importing? Because if you are this will bump the cost up.

Sounds like a good flat price though! [Depending on condition]

Unless you are from ireland or outside the UK of course Embarassed

hi
I loved my nsr - it was my first bike and i had it just over 12 months before passing my test and buying a cbr600.

not sure if mine was de-restricted or not, but I had 90mph out of mine, and loved it with a passion.

the biggest faults were
a) no pull at all below 7000 revs! used to annoy me sometimes, trying to keep up with others.
b) being a 2 stroke the engine could flood easily on trying to start it. I was soon a dab hand at changing/cleaning my spark plug in the damn thing!
c) the 2 stroke engine

but the plus points MORE than made up for the negatives for me. it was regularly mistaken for a bigger bike. it had more presence than the new cbr125's, underseat storage, etc...

Sometimes i quite miss it, but when i start my cr up and hear the sound of her engine, i forget about my little 125 Very Happy

All in all a fantastic 1st bike and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.

good luck with whatever yo decide to go with.
