does anyone know if the maps that are used for tom tom have to be specific to each phone/operating system/software? Or can you use the maps off another device?

I have the tomtom software for a motorola A1000 but no maps for it (I can't seem to find them anywhere on the internet), but I was wondering whether the maps from another phone that I have access too (an orange spv m1000) will work on the A1000 or mess the phone up?

anyone ever tried something similar with a phone?

If anyone has an A1000 i'm having trouble finding any programs for it really, theirs meant to be a lot of software out their for it I think.

theres a particular version if TTmobile5 "floating" about out there that works with any TT5 maps. you "might" find it on a torrent site or a newsgroup.
