What Iv got is Sky+ installed downstairs, and my tv upstairs with just terrestrial. I have a coax cable running from the downstairs tv aeriel upstairs to my tv for better signal, but what i want is to have chans 1-5 then the channel that downstairs is watching on sky? Can I do that with just a coax? Plan is to get one of them magic eye things so I can control the downstairs box from my room, so I can change this channel when I want. Is this possible? What kit do I need?

If you already have co-ax from downstairs to upstairs, the easiest solution is to use a video recorder.

Put one of the SCART outs from the Sky+ box into the video, then hook the co-ax into the RF output on the video.

Yes. SKY+ has two coax outputs and one input.

Connect the aerial to the input.

Connect the first coax output to your TV (or just rely on SCART).

Connect the second coax output to the cable that goes upstairs and on to your second TV. Get a second remote and one of those little eyes (TV LINK) that lets you change the channel from upstairs. Press "Services 4 0 1 Select" to get to the hidden installer menu and turn the RF power to ON to enable the TV LINK box power.

You can have video/DVD upstairs too, but that depends where in the circuit you plug your video/DVD player. After the SKY box and you can record SKY, before the SKY box and you can watch it upstairs. Although since you'll probably have it connected via SCART as well as coax, you can record that way anyway.

Yep it's certainly possible. I have that setup in my house. Don't have a clue how it's setup though Laughing

Shouldn't this be in the geek section?

the above is what you need, put one in for my uncles kitchen a few weeks back, works a treat. Id move or close this thread because when the mods inevitably move it you'll get bad karma'd.
