easier said than done, the dvla are a bunch of unorganised tossers, they must have 1 person on the phone.

Seem to recall when I passed my bike test that I had 2 choices to upgrade my car licence:

(1) Leave my licence with the Examiner and he'd sort it out
(2) Send off licence and certificate to DVLA myself

Option 1 was free. Option 2 had some sort of fee to pay. I assume it works the same if you're converting "the other way" - but I guess now you're only left with option 2.

Hi,

I am not sure about the BHP thing, I suspect it will remove itself if its now expired.

Before you send it photocopy both parts and the test certificate and get someone respectable to sign them to indicate there are true copies. (so it when it comes back without bike entilement you can sort it out)

Regards
Charlotte

Just make sure you take copies of any entitlements you already have, to make sure the cheeky little welsh fellas don't 'accidentally' get rid of them.

Edit: Ooops, Charlotte got there first!

'Upgrading' your licence afer passing a test is free. If you're <25 Kw has also expried, they will remove this and replace it with a cat A.

The <=25kW removes itself automatically, you could have left it with the examiner.

It doesn't matter if that <25kw stays on there anyway because it says only for 2 years so whoever checks can just do the maths to work it out.

They also lost my license even when i left it with the examiner after passing my bike test. I already had a car license and they didn't believe me that I had sent it off so I then had to send off my pass certifcate off as well with a covering letter.
