I park several places in Mancs and the bike is always there when I get back thing is though over the past week workmen have been doing work on the pavement and subsequently walled in my bike , how legal is it to move these barriers out the way ride out and move them back again ?.

Or when you park in an area that over the working day turns into an access only area for some kind of street party?

I've always moved them out the way or once used a puck substitute to show the bike sideways out of a small opening between a portacabin,

any suggestions?

Thanks

You're within your rights to move non-fixed furniture and put it back, so long as you don't damage it. If you weren't parked illegaly and there was no sign up saying they were going to be carrying out works they shouldn't have boxed you in anyway.

I cant see why they might care, as long as you put it back afterwards (or even notice).

Oh yeh, and where does it state this??, in the BEANO Rolling Eyes

Moving official signs and barriers can get your wrists slapped, however, they'd have to be realllllly arsey to book you for it under the circs.
If they are blocking access then it may be worth speaking with the site foreman.

I've been in the construction/demoliton trade for the past 18 years, currently I'm heading a £350k selective demolition package at the old Home Office building. I know a bit about it.
FWIW I assumed the guy was referring to moving temporary furniture put in place to facilitate the works, not permanent street furniture. You shouldn't, and normally couldn't move that.

Just move it out of the way so that you can wheel your bike out and then put it back. I can't see there being any problem with doing that. Besides come the evening time the 'youth of today' will kick them the strew them all over the place anyway, leave them lying over the pavement and lying in the road as well.
