why?

Its not as quick or as sharp handling as an R6.

Which Fazer? The new shape one, or the old steel framed thundercat engined one?

The only reason I can think of is to get something more relaxed for everyday use.

I had a new-model '04 Fazer, I really liked it, but then, I've not ridden an R6 so can't really compare.

I had on to ride for a week last month, think it was an 02 or an 03. It had underseat pipes that cooked my arse in the hot weather. It was quite pleasant to ride, light steering, good turn of speed once wound up, ok brakes
I prefer a needle to the digital speedo though.

Have a test-ride on one and if you like it, buy it.

have a test ride first

i would have thought that the fazer would be easier to ride, with more mid range torque so you dont have to rev it so high

lower pegs and higher bars so maybe more comfy

whether it will be an improvement depends on how you like to ride

They should be ideal then.

I'm 6'1 and found it a very comfortable posture, and you can vary it between sporty and upright depending on how much you fancy hugging the tank. The screen is pretty good and deflects most of the windblast over your shoulders even when caning it down the motorway sitting upright, so you should be onto a winner there!

The new Fazer also has a great tank range and parts for it are very cheap as I found out thanks to my other halfs ability to sniff out and ride straight over what can only be described as an enormous pool of diesel. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
