Hey all.

My 2.5year old fuji has melted it's self(short circuited) - not surprising really considering it had been drowned and dropped.

I have no idea where to start, what to look for etc
Mom keeps on about Vivitar. anyone recommend or had experience with theses cameras?

Camera needs to be able
to take reasonable track day pictures and other motion shots, dog's etc. take movies with or without sound(not bothered)

minimum of 3.0 megapixels.

I know there are plenty of budding photographers on here with roughly the same demands on their camera's so figured it would be a good place to seek advise.

Thanks
Simple

For cheap - a few of us have and like the Minolta Z1 for taking bike pics.

(Z1 is 3mp, z2 4mp etc)

Decent range of features and low shutter lag.
Takes pretty decent pics.

I paid about £60 for mine from ebay, but was lucky I think.

Will take films running with 640 x 480 @ 30fps with sound - which is good.

I have the F410 great little camera but the shutter lag is just not good for action shots. I find my K800i phone takes better action pictures (3.2mp).

Some pics I took this weekend on my Z1, none that great, was just playing about...

Quality is a bit iffy due to compression, not the camera.
