Hi,
I know this has probably been covered which is why ive spent the last hour and half searching for it (ok got drawn into some of the threads!)

Basically i passed my car test end of 04 and bike test earlier this month (A2 Test)

Had the licence come back and the card is still pink and shows A on the front with the B, B1,f,k,p and A on the back with the other catagories with <=25KW in the Notes section.

Brilliant i thought, lovely.

Just looked at the paper counterpart and under the "Provisional Entitlement" section it still says

category---------------From--------------------------Until

A------------------My 17th Birthday-------------My 70th Birthday

Surely as i have now a FULL bike licence the A shouldnt be in my provisional entitlements.

No were on the paper counterpart does it show my Full licence entitlements. Its bloody witchcraft. Im moving house some time in the next 6 months so i will CERTAINLY be photocopying both parts and having them signed by one of the bobbies down my local nick!

Can anyone shed any light on this please Praying

It's not on mine (only G and H in the provisional section), but I did DAS rather than the A2 (with 2 year restriction test).

You better get onto the DVLA quick coz there's a time-limit on getting it sorted. I read somewhere (MCN I think) of a traffic bike cop having to re-sit his test because they did it to him and he never realise 'till he went to hire a bike on holiday.

My dad lost his license and when applied for a replacement they had ABSOLUTELY NO RECORD of him ever owning one. He phoned them and they said if he could produce evidence that he once had full car and bike entitlement they would sort it BUT he had to pay for another new license. Luckily for him, he had bought a scanner for his PC the year before, and tested it out by scanning his license. If he hadn't, he would have had to re-sit all his tests.

I still have my Test Pass certificate as the lovely examiner took my licence off me at the test centre and sent it off to the DVLA. So i have evidence of a bike test pass!

Shocks me how amateurish the DVLA are

My licence quite clearly states my entitlement in CatA on the pink card Geri, just shows A as provisional on the counterpart too. I have emailed the DVLA about 4 times re this, no response so far.

well I know they are only a government agency but they are close to the law as you get as they implement it anyways even though they are not as good as one might have anticipated
