My MDA Pro works brilliantly as a GPS nav system, but doesn't like doing it in combination with windows media player - the music stops and starts every few seconds - I'm assuming due to the phone not being powerful enough to do carry out both tasks at the same time.
I tend to mostly rely on the voice commands rather than the display, as I have the geepers mounted in a tank bag and don't like looking down except as a quick confirmation of what I've just heard. This can be a bit of a pain in the arse on longer journeys, as I like to listen to music rather than a strange woman making cryptic comments at random intervals.
Running 2 sets of headphones and putting one of each in each ear seems a little clumsy, so I've been looking at things like this:
https://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1221&criteria=3.5mm%20SPLITTERS&doy=2m9
Am I right in thinking that - with a bit of fiddling around with volume llevels) a splitter like this will quite happily let me listen to my NETMD player, whilst letting the GPS cut in as well when required? I'm assuming there wouldn't be any huge problems with excessive load on the headphones?
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated. ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

Wouldn't that just let you listen to your NETMD player with two sets of headphones? You'd at least need a male to female adapter (x3) in addition to that splitter.
Or just get something like this instead:

That pic is from Maplin - but it's 6.35mm and is stereo->mono so not what you want.
A combiner cable is 99 cents in the USA (EBay 260025797182)
You could buy the parts from Maplin and make it yourself.
Here are instructions on how to do it properly (rather than just reverse the "splitter" approach):

The expensive way (available in the UK and the USA) is StarCom. ____________________ Current bike: Kawasaki Z750S |
